Wrote a poem on the prompt – Stone

I care not for the tears
that seep through your eyes
Or the emptiness of your days
that scream of pain
I care not for your broken heart
That wails of loss
Trampled and tossed by strangers and kin
Chipped and eroded by lashing winds
Engulfed and hurled by turbulent waves
Chiseled by others’ whims
There can be no remorse in me
For your affliction or anybody else
Used, shattered, cast away
I have had my share. This is yours
Rebuke me for my insensitivity
Chastise me, I care not
For I am Stone –
Unfeeling, cold, impenetrable

A befitting tribute to stone-hearted people…beautifully penned Smitha. This poem reminds me of streams hurtling down the mountains, each push and pull leaving a mark and softening the boulders to convert them into pebbles…Mother Nature can tame all! 🙂

Thank you so much. Means a lot to hear your verdict on my poem 🙂 I imagine the words in your comment – ‘the push and the pull…softening the boulders.’ So beautiful. Thank you XXX
