Creative Writing Poetry

I’m sore! I can write no more!

sore

My shoulders are aching

And so is my skull. I’m lying

on the bed

With my hands behind my head.

My neck feels like its gonna give away

God! What a price I must pay

For this madness

That’s caused me this soreness!

A zillion thoughts

Brewing; must be attended to, before it rots

Like stallions – galloping by the sea

Their manes flying, wild and free

Atoms bumping into one another

On a narrow highway; Oh! what a terrible bother!

I close my eyes and wish

If only there was a way – swish!

That they could be captured

And caged

in the pages, of this diary

that lies in wait, beside me.

I focus – the power of my mind being tested

‘Go, go’ I say, ‘I order you with the power vested

in me.’ And then, I look –

Nothing! The book-

Lies frozen, by my side

Opened wide

Abandoned

Shunned

My shoulders are aching

I can do no more writing

My hands behind my head

I lie still on my bed

It’s past mid-night

I turn off the light

And put them to bed – these untamed horses,

And call it a day, stopping these obnoxious verses!

  1. You are an inspiration, you can’t be sore
If you write no more, many will get bored
So please fight back and resume writing more
And instill awe in the people with your mesmerizing lore.. 😊

  5. I hope your aches and pains go away, soon.
    Well done on the poem.
I bet Ernest Hemingway would also say bravo.
BTW he is one of my favorite authors.
    Be well and rest easy

    • Thank you Margie for the warm encouragement❤. That’s very sweet of you. I wrote this poem a few days ago and posted it now when the pains left. I wonder if he meant ‘physical pain’ though🙂.

      • You are most welcome, Smitha ❤
It’s probably more likely Hemingway was talking about mental pain even though he did suffer physical aliments as well.
