In case you’re wondering what’s happening, why it is, what’s the solution to all that’s happening and who’s responsible – here it is. I take responsibility for the latest attack on all of humanity.
To every citizen of the world
We are in a state of war
I declared it-
You are the enemy
You have plundered
And pillaged
All that I created
And you take credit for shaping it
When you do nothing but take from it.
I gave you land
You made borders
I gave you air
You filled it with smog
I gave you seas and oceans
You threw in your debris
And I gave you hope
You tainted it with religion
I gave you rain
To wash away your dirt
I gave you trees
To restore your soul
I gave you time
To fix your mess
But you abused your power
And undermined mine!
I warned you
With flood and fire
I warned you
With earthquakes and tsunamis
But you turned a deaf ear
You did not listen
You ignored the signs
You left me with no choice
Now I see you’re frightened
I see you’re powerless
What use is your army and your navy?
What use is your air-force
Your border and your money
Or your weapons and your intelligence?
You’re scared to let anyone near
You live in dread and fear
You fret who is your enemy
It’s Me!
Your savior, your salvation,
I am your redemption
Know I can wipe you out
Every one of you
Wake up
And save yourselves.
Yours’ truly
God

exquisitely composed … I also say it’s mother nature repaying us for our destruction. Read my “Storm Speak” 🙂

Want to see your take. I’ve just been so busy with school exams and feeding perpetually hungry kids (after the lockdown) that I kind of missed out on wordpress posts. I intend catching up now 🙂

Thank you daddy. It’s good to read your comment after ages. I hope we learn but sadly we are blessed with selective memories.

Once a calamity strikes we appear to be too nice extending help and succour to those in distress and forget about it later as we had witnessed in the 2018 deluge. Even today there is a large number of persons who have not received the required help from authorities after almost two years. This should change.

Yes it should but it’s for the government and the authorities involved in such collections to check and ensure people have settled and if not, to continue their collections. People are donating do not have an idea if more is needed or not and so the donations trickle and then come to a standstill.

Well-penned Smitha.
I thought the speaker admonishing humanity is Mother Nature. Since I am not sure about that omniscient entity that wreaks havoc and watches mutely, I would interpret this “wake up” call – the call of a mother who provides everything and absorbs all that is discarded. However, all calamities have been conquered in the past. Sure, humanity has to pay a price for its follies but life goes on. Man has been rising from the disasters that he creates. Keep the hope alive.

Thank you so much!❤
It was meant as a reminder on the frailties our ‘borders’ over which we fight. Also, that even the Gods in heaven must feel sick of humans fighting in their name. With the current pandemic, the world has come together to fight the enemy. In India, for example, the unrest in Delhi has ended. True what you said that ‘ all calamities have been conquered.’ That probably explains why there’s so much noise on the virus and yet life on the streets goes on as normal. Thank you again for sharing the positivity. Stay safe.

Well,
When the air was free from smog
When sewage didn’t pollute the rivers
When animals killed humans not much the other way round
We still faced the destruction of Pompeii
We were forced to face the end of millions by plague and smallpox
We took control of Nature due to its Evil
Of course, we admit our mistakes
Of course, pollution exists today
But we did manage to kill
Smallpox, Polio and Plague
We did manage to reduce the blow of the dreaded flu
We did manage to save ourselves from wild animals
Mistakes were made on both sides
One tried to outdo the other and thus, inadvertent excesses happened
Human is trying to repair Nature
But Nature is equally guilty for it’s crimes of the Past, through no fault of the humans.

The poem Abirbhav is an irony on ‘borders’ and the fact that with all our technology and weapons, we are now helpless. It’s also meant as satire because even the rich now are afraid to breathe.

I understand Madam. The rich do seem helpless and are afraid to breathe as of now. We may seem helpless now, but I am sure we will prevail. We prevailed previously even without science or technology. We will prevail again, very very soon..

Yes we will. And cheers to hope and positivity. If only man realised how powerless we are in the face of natural calamities and treated ‘ nature’ with due respect and avoided fighting over unnecessary things.
