NaPoWriMo Day 26 :Bali, India, Dubai -with love

And now for our prompt (optional, as always). This is one that we’ve used before, but one test of a  good prompt is that you can come back to it! For this prompt, you will need to fill out, in five minutes or less, the following “Almanac Questionnaire.” Then, use your responses as to basis for a poem.

Happy writing!

I’ve attached the Almanac questionnaire on which the poem was based below the poem. The poem’s based on my answers to the question.

Bali, India, Dubai – with love
Summer time, cottages
bougainvillea, spider-lilies
Crashing waves, white foam
Swinging on the beach, my thoughts roam
The breeze- gentle, kisses my chiffon kimono
Green waters, white sands
A fallen tree in the sea
branches rotting, in the distance, I see
Salt in the air, tangles my hair
I walk to the waters, my kimono sticks
cool, laps my feet, licks
Coiled in the trunk
Something black
Gooey, striped, looks back
A sea-krait
‘Dareknesia’ painted on the wall
A sign
I run
A dream- it’s coming true
Its dark, I can’t see, I run
I fall, I faint
A village school, grandma’s home
Istanbul, a blue dome
Rajiv Gandhi speaking
Sriperumbudur, suicide bombing
There’s a theory- Sonia and LTTE
‘Kolkata woman dies after Oxford vaccine’
I’m scared of heights
Red carpet, the Oscars, I’ve won
‘Ugly Duckling’ turns a swan
“Surprise” I overhear them say
Confetti, lights, cheering all the way
A unicorn, pink and purple
Foxtails, petunias, I’m going in a circle
A gold coin fallen, embossed
A ‘dancing girl’ engraved
Mohenjo-daro, Harappa, Indus
The smell of citrus
A white Dior gown, flowing
George Clooney’s smiling
With love
On a camel, I’m flying high
Over the Burj Khalifa touching the sky
Its warm, its sunny
“Wake up, Honey”
Says, George Clooney
I open my eyes and see
Spectacles, ruffled hair
Eyes wide, stare
Its’ Hubby!
Where’s Clooney?
