I painted this a few days ago, on the 22nd to be precise. The painting is special for loads of reasons. For the first time in days I felt at ease with myself- my older daughter walked into the room , saw my face and remarked “You look so calm today,” and when my husband called me from work he said, ” You sound happy. ” Painting this made me happy. I’m not sure why. Maybe because acrylic painting is forgiving. It allows you to paint and repaint or perhaps its because, this was a nature painting.

This painting was inspired by a painting I saw on Pinterest. Let me know what you think.

A close up

I uploaded a photograph of this painting on Fb and someone actually asked me if it was for sale. If I sell it, it will be my first. I picked up the paint brush during the lockdown and it’s kept me sane through all the ups and downs. But until now, after dad, I had no idea how happy it made me. Someone offering to buy the painting has given me the confidence I needed to take my artwork more seriously.

Sometimes all you need is for someone to invest in you to bring back the sparkle in your lives- to add the extra magic. If you haven’t found that someone yet, then why don’t you start with you. Invest today in somebody else and see where your faith in their work takes them. That too would feel like magic. It’s the season of giving after all.

    1. Thank you Jo. Something you said about painting your mom and your home made me want to begin again.
I hope its not beginner’s luck and continues. It made me so happy just receiving the offer.
